She urged society to acknowledge the harm drugs have caused and take responsibility. Masisi emphasized the need for support and rehabilitation for drug users and called for collective efforts from all sectors to raise awareness and combat drug abuse. Minister of Defence and Security Kagiso Mmusi noted the socio-economic damage caused by drug trafficking and stressed the importance of training and prevention strategies. The District Health Management Team reported rising cases of substance abuse and related mental health issues, with a significant number of arrests for drug possession. Kasane court president, Kgosi Thuso Wasetso, highlighted the risk of Chobe District becoming a drug trafficking corridor and the need for preventive measures.
