Botswana’s Peter Mabeo and Beullah Serema present handcrafted diamond and craft artworks at London’s Frieze Masters 2026, highlighting local skills on a global art stage.
At London’s Frieze Masters 2026, Botswana’s Peter Mabeo and Beullah Serema feature a collection of handcrafted amulets combining diamonds with traditional basketry, pottery, and woodcarving. The works, created in collaboration with local artisans, celebrate Botswana’s craftsmanship and natural materials.
The exhibition, part of De Beers’ Voyage Through the Diamond Realm, explores diamond origins and showcases Botswana’s artistic heritage alongside international contemporary art. The display includes a tapestry woven from Okavango Delta fibres, ceramic fragments, and ostrich eggshell beads, evoking geological and cosmic themes.
This event marks a significant milestone for Botswana’s cultural representation internationally, with the exhibition planned to tour globally, extending the reach of Botswana’s traditional crafts and design innovation.
